The Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD) and the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) has released Workplace Violence Prevention in Health Care: a guide to the law for hospitals, long-term care homes, and home care. This resource is meant to help employers, supervisors and workers understand their obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and O. Reg. 67/93 – Health Care and Residential Facilities Regulation including workplace violence prevention. The following presentation was made by Dr. Leon Genesove, Director of the Occupational Health and Safety Branch at the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development, and Dr. Michelle Acorn, Provincial Chief Nursing Officer at the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, on October 8, 2019.
