JHSC Certification Part 1

Private delivery enables workplaces to provide training in the way that works best for them. This flexible option makes training groups of learners easy, allowing you to set the date, use example training scenarios based on your workplace, and choose how the training is offered. A knowledgeable health and safety consultant will deliver the training through your choice of medium: virtually or delivered in-person at your workplace.

Basics

This three-day course covers the first part of the training required for you to be a certified member of a workplace Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC). You can complete JHSC Certification Part 1 training with a knowledgeable instructor either in-person or online, or choose to learn on your own with self-paced eLearning.

Combined with Part 2, this training course leads to certification under Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) guidelines. JHSC Certification Part 2 must be completed within 12 months of completing JHSC Certification Part 1.

Who should take this course?

Any worker or JHSC member who wants to become JHSC certified, regardless of any previous experience in health and safety. Workplaces that regularly have 20 or more employees must ensure at least two personnel have completed the certification training.
