Health and Safety Trainer

Are you enthusiastic about delivering Health and Safety Training? If so, this is the opportunity for you! Reporting to the Manager, Service Delivery and Resourcing, the Health and Safety Trainer will have a main focus on delivering compliance training, with a small focus on non-compliance training, to our public sector clients. The Health and Safety Trainer will deliver training both virtually and in person using adult learning principles to create an impactful learning environment.

 

Major Accountabilities

  • Deliver and facilitate compliance and non-compliance health and safety training virtually or in person.
  • Deliver training to our sector front-line workers and senior management.
  • Communicate PSHSA service offerings during training where appropriate.
  • Engage with consultants and Directors on business development opportunities received from training and client interactions.
  • Responsible for supporting the maintenance of the portfolio course materials to ensure accuracy to regulations, standards, and leading practices.
  • Collaborate with product development and act as liaison for product revisions or new product development.
  • Use PSHSA systems to monitor, deliver and close out training sessions.
  • Support sector-focus initiatives or campaigns, including development and/or facilitating or supporting content.
  • Collaborate and develop resource materials that support topics related to course content such as fast facts, checklists, action plans, forms, templates, etc.
  • Track activities in CRM.
  • Other related tasks as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Excellent engagement and communication skills.
  • College diploma or University Degree in OHS or 5-10 years Experience in OHS industry.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience facilitating health and safety training.
  • Experience in the sectors we serve is considered an asset.
  • CRSP or CHSC an asset
  • Experience delivering training in a virtual environment.
  • Travel is required depending on the needs of the client.
  • Certificate or experience delivering training to adult learners with a variety of learning styles.
  • Knowledgeable in health and safety legislation and health and safety management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and use technology.
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Able to use software including Microsoft Office, Excel PowerPoint and Learning Management Systems
